Artist's Comments

More Hellsing fan art - (Dark)Walter and Alucard - from an idea that struck me yesterday. The title is Romanian for "Fairy Tale", something I thought was quite appropriate for the image, since the pairing isn't canon.

18+ hours in Photoshop.

Beautiful and certainly romantic, but in a sort of strange, self-aware way--Alucard's sneering, Walter's looking smug. The reason ignores or denies the romance, while the bodies beneath are indistiguishably united.

Gorgeous picture, too. Normally I think the 'shopped-picture-as-background looks cheesy, but this time it seems to complement your art and seam well with it, instead of standing out as being seperate. Very, very nice!

Ewigkeit geschwornen Eiden, Wahrheit gegen Freund und Feind,
Männerstolz vor Königsthronen, - Brüder, gält es Gut und Blut -
Dem Verdienste seine Kronen, Untergang der Lügenbrut!"

 You leave such flattering comments like you've read my mind, I really didn't know what to write at first.

I usually don't care for the add-on background either, but I had such a hard time drawing the background that I decided to try it. I'm really happy with the way it turned out, and I'm glad you like it!

The overall picture has a nice flow to it, the linear starkness of the faces adds a nice surreal touch to the background. (Personally would have gone with a black and white photo to paste in, would have made the red pop a bit) Also, the monocle still seems a little out of sorts. Over all a good piece, and you know well enough that I won't say that without meaning it.
